BECOME A RECREATIONAL INSTRUCTOR

The Recreational Instructor is responsible for on-site management of a recreation center facility, implements programs and activities by conducting, guiding and training program participants, registers participants for classes, prepares and distributes flyers, pamphlets and other general promotional material, prepares monthly activity calendars and reports as required, performs duties in accordance with City and Departmental policies and performs other related work as required.

2021 Marina Youth Flag Football Camp

Come join Coach Jeremy, Coach JD and the Marina High School Football team! Camp is available for all area boys & girls entering grades 1st thru 8th and will held at Los Arboles Middle School lower field in Marina from July 20th to 23rd.  Camp staff will give instruction on the basics of football fundamentals and skills. 

All player applications must be received at the Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department, located at 211 Hillcrest Avenue, no later than 5:00 p.m.; Friday, July 16th, 2021 for kids entering grades 1st thru 8th. Space is limited, late entries will be put on a waiting list. 

Cost is $20.00 for Members, $40.00 for Non-Members, $55.00 for Non-Members/Non-Residents – 50% off all children in the same family after child 1.

2021 Summer Skate Camp

City of Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department Announces 2021 Summer Skate Camp.

The goal of this camp is to provide instruction in basic skills, safety, balance, etiquette and technique. This Camp is open for youth ages 6 thru 14 years of age and will be held at the Marina Skate Park, located at 303 Hillcrest Avenue, Marina Ca 93933. Equipment will not be included, please have your child bring safety equipment such as helmet and knee pads daily. At the 2021 Skate Camp thumbnail of Registration Formend of each session a field trip to an area skate park will take place. On The Beach Surf Shop is our skate camp sponsor.

Camp schedule - July 26th - July 30th, 2021 (registration deadline 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23rd).

Camp will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Camp fee is $20.00 for Marina Residents and $55.00 for Non-Residents (additional fee may apply, see fees on registration form).

Registration Deadline is Friday, July 16, 2021 Come join Coach Mario and the Marina High School basketball team! These camps are available for all area boys & girls entering grades 3rd thru 8th and will held at Los Arboles Middle School gym in Marina. Current covid-19 protocol will be followed – face coverings will be required.

Basketball Camp staff will give instruction on shooting, rebounding, ball handling, defensive play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and other basic basketball fundamentals. Full Details in Registration Form

Youth Volleyball Camp is Back!

Grades 4th thru 8th – July 26th to 29th

Come join Coach Cheyanne and the Marina High School Volleyball team! Camp is available for all area boys & girls entering grades 4th thru 8th and will held at Los Arboles Middle School gym in Marina. Current covid-19 protocol will be followed – face coving will be required.

Camp staff will give instruction on the basics of volleyball fundamentals and skills.

Space is limited, late entries will be put on a waiting list. Please download the registration form and return it with all information completed on both sides.

Marina Parks Status Updates

Parks within the City of Marina (except for the skate park and tennis/pickleball courts) are remaining open. However, restroom facilities, picnic areas, and playgrounds are closed.

The Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department oversees the Youth, Teen and Senior Centers. In addition the Department holds a variety of community special events and sport leagues.

Recreation staff and volunteers host numerous community events each year and provides safe places for children to go after school. We take great pride in enriching the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.

The City of Marina Recreation & Cultural Services Department Mission is to acquire, develop, operate and maintain a park and recreation system which enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike and preserve it for future generations.
