On January 28, 2024 at about 6:21 PM, Marina PD, Marina Fire and AMR responded to the report of a vehicle injury collision in the 300 block of Reservation Road. The initial report was a vehicle versus pedestrian collision with injuries. Equipment arrived on scene and found a male with serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries. The
driver, Daniel Serrano (04-20-02) remained on scene and was cooperative. He was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) causing injury. Serrano was booked into the county jail. Reservation Road was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated.
Our investigation into this crash is in the preliminary stages and is ongoing. The pedestrian's identity is pending notification of next of kin by the Monterey County Sheriff's Department Coroners Division.
