On 03-03-24 at about 0233 hours, Marina PD officer located a recently crashed vehicle on the side of the road near Del Monte Blvd & Lapis. Officers conducted an area check for the driver or occupants and used the department drone. Using the drone a male subject was observed hiding in a ditch close by the vehicle. As officers attempted to contact the male, later identified as Richard Robinson (03-09-00), he fled on foot along and through the agriculture fields. He was watched with the drone and was subsequently taken into custody. A search of the vehicle located brass knuckles and three loaded handguns. One firearm was discovered to be a stolen firearm from Las Vegas, another was a Ghost Gun with a silencer and the third was an unregistered firearm.
Robinson was booked into the Monterey County Jail on the following charges: 23152(a) VC - DUI, 23152(b) VC - DUI with a BAC over .08%, 148(a)(1) PC - Resisting officers/arrest, 20002(a) VC - Hit & Run, 25400(a)(1) PC - Possession of concealable firearm without a CCW (felony due to the firearms being unregistered and/or stolen), 25850(a) PC - Possession of a firearm in a vehicle (felony due to the firearms being unregistered and/or stolen), 33410 PC - Possession of a silencer, 30605(a) PC - Possess assault weapon, 24610 PC - Possession of an untraceable firearm (Ghost Gun), 21810 PC - Possession of brass knuckles, 496(a) PC - Possession of stolen property.
