MARINA, CA – The City of Marina and the Veterans Transition Center (VTC) are proud to host the Salute to Veterans Jamboree on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. This special event provides an opportunity for our veteran community to connect, access important resources and participate in fun activities. The event is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VTC (220 12th St.).
The VTC is a non-profit organization that provides medical, psychological, occupational, financial, educational, social and housing support to veterans through specialized recovery programs.
“Supporting our veteran community is essential in our mission to uphold a high quality of life for all Marina residents through recreation and cultural opportunities, a safe environment and economic viability,” said Marina Mayor Bruce Carlos Delgado. “By sponsoring this event and supporting the VTC’s important work, we hope to connect veterans and their families in Marina with opportunities to enrich their lives while enjoying a day filled with entertainment and community.”
At the event, attendees can look forward to a resource fair, wrap around services for Veterans, bounce houses, games, raffles prizes and 30 vendors on-site for food, local crafts, goods and gifts as well as the following free "day of" services for veterans:
“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the VTC and further their mission to end veteran homelessness in Monterey County” said Community Development Director Guido Persicone. “Ensuring a high quality of life for all Marina residents goes beyond housing alone. Our efforts seek to provide a network of care and accessibility to resources that empower our community members to build successful families and businesses.”
