The City of Marina’s Recreation & Cultural Services Department invites you to help create and build one of the largest inclusive playgrounds in California. 

The new playground will be a state-of-the-art, custom-designed, all-inclusive playground. Marina is breaking the mold of traditional, manufactured playgrounds by creating one that is custom-designed, community-built, and unique to the ideas and dreams of Marina youth and their families. 

The design will be inspired by natural and historic features, local traditions, architecture, and the imagination of local youth.

As an all-inclusive playground, the design will include features for children and adults with mobility limitations, sensory processing disorders, visual and auditory impairments, and developmental and cognitive delays. The playground will utilize equipment with different levels of challenge, providing play opportunities for children of all abilities, which fosters cooperative, social, and shoulder-to-shoulder play. 

Once the design is complete, our community of volunteers will come together to actually build the playground on-site. Under the supervision of construction consultants, hundreds of volunteers will work side-by-side to build the playground from the ground up!
