Tree Committee

Responsibilities

The Marina City Council appoints a Tree Committee, as a subcommittee of the Marina Planning Commission.  The committee has the power to review and make recommendations to the Planning Commission regarding: tree removal, mitigation measures, and conditions of approval; landmark tree designation proposals; consistency with tree preservation ordinance; and, preferred species for  trees in required landscape plans. On November 21, 2023, pursuant to Resolution 2023-126, the Tree Committee Members were extended until January 1, 2025.

Meeting Time & Location

Tree Committee meetings generally occur quarterly on the second Wednesday in the months of January, April, July, and October at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers unless otherwise noted. Please check the City Calendar and sign up for notification of all Tree Committee scheduled Meetings to stay up to date.
