POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND TRAINING (PENAL CODE §13650)

Law Enforcement Agency Public Records information as required by Penal Code §13650 (Senate Bill 978) is located on this page. Penal Code  §13650 reads:

Commencing January 1, 2020, the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training and each local law enforcement agency shall conspicuously post on their internet websites all current standards, policies, practices, operating procedures, and education and training materials that would otherwise be available to the public if a request was made pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 6250) of Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code).

Most California Law Enforcement training is provided through the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and can be accessed through the POST website link, which can be accessed here: http://www.post.ca.gov. OTHER TRAINING MATERIALS

The following list of organizations have training materials that may be taught by the Marina Police Department, but are copyrighted or maintained exclusively by that organization:

MILITARY EQUIPMENT - GOVERNMENT CODE §§§ 7070, 7071, 7072 (ASSEMBLY BILL 481)

AB 481 requires each law enforcement agency’s governing body to adopt a written military use policy by ordinance in a public forum. The Marina City Council approved Marina Police Department Policy 706- Military Equipment, including the department's military equipment list, by ordinance on April 19, 2022. (Marina City Council Ord. 2022-02)

Equipment List  -  The Marina Police Department has not obtained, nor does it utilize, any equipment procured from the United States Department of Defense through the Law Enforcement Support Program, also known as the 1028 or 1033 program.
